Banquet and Concert

Rudolf BudginasAfter the banquet on Saturday evening, the conference members will be entertained by Rudolf Budginas, a brilliant, internationally-renowned concert pianist, whose deft fingers have delighted audiences from Denmark to Japan and a dozen countries in between; who has acquired a slew of international awards and honors; and who has personal charm, charisma and perhaps most importantly, a sense of humor, which allows him to consistently connect and interact with his audiences...when, for example, explaining the direct musical line from Liszt’s “Hungarian Rhapsody” to Johnny Cash’s “Walk the Line” or creating his own arrangements for piano, bass, percussion and guitar of classic and jazz hits such as “Claire de Lune,” “Moonlight Sonata,” Bizet’s “Carmen” and pieces ranging from Chopin to Brubeck.

Hailed as “A young hip Victor Borge-like entertainer,” the Lithuanian-born pianist plans to conquer the hearts, minds, ears and funny bones of American music lovers.

Sponsored by Sherman Clay of Santa Clara

Sherman Clay has been serving the musical needs of West Coast families since 1870. Their Santa Clara Northern California warehouse is proud to support this year's Western and Pacific Conference event by providing a Steinway D and helping fund the featured Artist, Rudolph Budginas. Sherman Clay has provided a location for local PTG chapter meetings, and highly values its relationships with members of PTG. Particular mention should go to Dave Dumont and Brad Hennings, who have not only interceded on our behalf to provide the Steinway "D" and funding, but have also helped book Rudolf Budginas for our event.
