It may seem odd that such a dazzling grand piano as the Ravenscroft, one which thunders and whispers, would be pressed into service in such a humble way. But that is what will happen when the Ravenscroft Swingin’ Soirée night kicks off. Played by Bill Kaye along with his trio, the big and commanding piano will be swinging sweetly with cocktail music dug out of the pages of the Great American Songbook. You know these tunes, that easy-listening kind of music ---- romantic, swinging, a bosa nova beat, perfect for background ambiance, mood-setting and dancing, if so inclined. It’s the vision of Michael Spreeman (the man behind the making of the Ravenscroft pianos).

“…the thing I like is this kind of format --- people at tables, or milling or dancing, low lighting, the band playing, everyone hanging out and enjoying each other’s company; no muss no fuss. My observation is that people seem to really like that…”

And yes! We at Team WestPac III totally agree!

You don’t want to miss this evening of major “hang-time” with your old and new friends. No pressure, no “show” to have to sit through, no captive audience, no breath-holding in the undertones of performance decorum. Sure there’s a time for all that, but not this night. Come on in, go on out as you please. Clink some glasses and shout out a toast to someone. Dance if you like, or not. Sweeten your palette from the complimentary dessert bar.

This is your night. Enjoy it! Courtesy of Michael Spreeman and WestPac III.

See ya there!
